Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Reports To: Vice President/General Manager

General Purpose of Job:

The primary purpose of the position is to supply engineering support to the manufacturing end of the business supporting production, purchasing, and facilities planning. Implement ideas for improving production, equipment safety and reliability, lowering operating and maintenance costs and improving finished product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

·Maximize manufacturing production support new facilities design and plant layout.

·Optimize operating efficiency by reducing or eliminating waste or inefficient process,

·Develop new alternatives or improvements to existing methods and processes.

·Investigates and analyzes manufacturing problems and makes comparative analyses of costs on recommendations,

·Perform a variety of traditional Industrial Engineering functions to increase profit and operating efficiency.

·Proposes changes or revisions in manufacturing methods to facilitate efficient production reduce costs, improve quality and safety.

·Makes engineering plans, calculations, statistical analysis, layouts, etc. required to achieve the specified objective.

·Provide applicable technical support to the operating unit or factory operations,

·Investigate latest manufacturing technologies and implement where feasible.

·Proactively seeks ways to improve work processes and resolution to problems or challenges.

·Accept and perform assignments and projects in one of the Lean Manufacturing groups (Tooling, Layout, Process, Cells).

·Makes decisions regarding own work; makes recommendations regarding department.

·Communicates with people diverse in language ability, educational levels and experience.

·Cooperate closely with others: Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Engineers, Purchasing and Manufacturing.

·Manage the process and the input/product aspects of a situation,

·Makes detailed theoretical, empirical analysis and proposes solutions on projects before implementing a solution.

·Communicates and facilitates understanding of moderately complex aspects of job.

·Applies technical knowledge and problem solving skills to solve problems.

·Work with a team, fast paced, and hands on.

·Effectively changes and meets deadlines as they evolve.

·Work on reducing order lead-time.

·Work with team on new quick-change tool design.

·Analyzes plant layout to improve production efficiency.

·Develop a new and efficient layout or long-range facilities planning.

·Develop manufacturing process capability with the end result being high quality processes that are repeatable and reliable.

·Interpreting product specifications, selection of and working with outside suppliers.

·Development and implementation of short and long range quality plans.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Industrial/Mechanical).

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and or board of directors. Good communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to use many different mathematical concepts and formulas to complete tasks. Must be able to learn new concepts for future projects.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables. Ability to learn and apply new concepts as projects may require.
