Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: Quality Assurance Supervisor
General Purpose of Job
Ensure the acceptability of metal forming, stamping, laser-cut, die-cut, progressing dies, and welding products. Perform "first-piece" buy off of same, and perform roving sampling inspection of in-process metal-formed product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
Interpret drawings & customer driven specifications; communicate conflicting measurements or conditions between drawing specifications and product in the "AS IS" condition to personnel at all levels of the organization.
Able to create and perform a formal first article / report using a variety of measurement instruments such as: digital & mechanical calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, pin gages, and the like.
Must have the ability to make rapid decisions regarding the acceptability of product in a quick-turn job shop environment
Interact with engineering or purchasing personnel with questions, concerns, clarification, or status.
Be reasonably flexible regarding inspection assignments such as receiving inspection from suppliers, and final inspection including, form, fit, function, and cosmetics.
The ability to learn and accept progressive responsibility
Work safely and abide by all safety rules.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilitie
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience. Technical school and/or job related training preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals, specifications, purchase orders, and blueprints.
Bi-Lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not necessary.
Mathematical Skills
Familiarity with mathematics related to determining dimensional tolerancing when measuring product that contains a radius, angles, holes, cavities, perpendicular surfaces, and stacked dimensions.
Reasoning Ability
Have the judgment and intellect to determine a proper sample number, level of scrutiny, and amount of time necessary to assure acceptability of the product under inspection.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
None required, but willing to become certified as Dayton Rogers Mfg Co. determines necessary to conduct business.
