In-house Tool & Die Departments

Dayton Rogers offers lifetime tooling and maintenance guarantees for the life of your products. Each Dayton Rogers Manufacturing Division has its own in-house Tool & Die Department, designed for quick turnaround on new orders and prompt repair, if needed. These departments use Wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment and CNC Machining Centers to produce metal die sets, custom fixtures, and certain metal parts. Additionally, each Tool & Die Department also includes: Mills, drills, lathes and grinders.

EDM is a machining process which consists in removing material from a workpiece, using electrical discharges as the means of machining. It is great for extremely thick and hard materials, such as those used to build metal stamping dies. Because EDM’s use electricity to cut through the material, rather than conventional machining methods, like milling, they are extremely accurate. This is due primarily to the absence of wear on machines, which can affect the results over time.

CNC Machining Centers have computers that can be programmed for precise machining and repeatable accuracy. These Machining Centers stock multiple tools and can automatically change between them in just seconds. This state of the art equipment allows Dayton Rogers to do precise machining in far less time, giving our customers superior quality, at a lower unit cost.
