Why Choose Progressive Tooling for your Precision Metal Stamping Needs?
Progressive Tooling is great for high-volume projects, not threatened by design changes. Because Progressive Tooling can be expensive to build or modify, the per-part cost savings must be spread out over the lifetime of the part. When working with thicker metals, Progressive Tooling might not be the best choice, because material is fed into the punch press from a roll of strip steel, and thicker metals cannot be coiled. Some forming operations might also not lend themselves to Progressive Tooling, so Modular Tooling might be your only option. An advantage of Progressive Tooling is the many operations performed at consecutive stations.
Some of these operations include: Blanking, Forming, Drawing, Piercing, Tapping, Staking, Riveting, and Insertion of Clinching Hardware.
Dayton Rogers Process Engineers can help you decide if Progressive Tooling is the right choice for your project.
